India is creating exceptional advancements in nuclear technology and could be a important partner of International atomic energy Agency. The global nuclear watchdog’s Director General Yukiya Amano said on weekday. “For mass generation of electricity, nuclear energy is very important. It paves the method for economic advancement. India is creating exceptional advancements in nuclear technology,” he told reporters visit to the Kudankulam nuclear power Plant in the district.
He also said in Nuclear science, India is a very important partner of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Mr Amano said that whereas providing safe nuclear energy, transparency and communication were vital aspects. After the Fukushima accident in Japan, a lot had been learnt and safety aspects were revisited. When going through the new rules, fifteen power plants were restarted and 9 nuclear energy plants were currently under construction.
“In the case of Kudankulam nuclear power Plant, it’s incorporated the most effective safety measures and design aspects. The passive cooling system, core catcher, natural cooling system and diesel generator are among the 5 safety aspects enclosed,” the IAEA chief said. Highlighting the importance of atomic energy, he said it was a really necessary one in mitigating the priority of climate change as there’s no emission of greenhouse gases in generating nuclear energy. Nuclear technology is also helpful in agriculture, food safety and information Technology. Worldwide, a complete of 449 nuclear energy plants were operational and another sixty are under construction.
Advantages of nuclear technology:
